Debut

Verse 1:
Debut – switch it round its but-De as in beauty
People all over telling me they’ve never heard of me
Well it won’t be long before I’m singing at the Grammy’s
Before I’m on every channel of the TV
Before I’m the cover if every magazine
Before I star in an Oscar winning movie
Everybody had to start somewhere
Soon I’ll be as popular as Sonny and Cher
Were in the seventies
Watch how far I will come
Soon my album
Will top the charts at number one
Fierce Rebel will go platinum

Bridge:
There’ll be Butter on my Toast in the Morning
Fierce Rebel, Monopoly, Simple Pleasures, Manwoman
Cigarettes and Candles, Debut, Sneaky Suspicion
Show and Tell, Welfare Trolls, Limelight, She Led me On
Insanity, Puppet Master, How to Write a Song

Chorus:
I am making my Debut
Everybody will love me, I am brand new
To me there is nothing that is taboo
Because that would be untrue
I am making a breakthrough
There is nothing I can’t do
I’m agog, starstruck, and fierce too
Today is my Debut

Verse 2:
Last year at this time I never thought I’d write a song
But a lot can change even though it’s not that long
Now here we are, you’re listening to me
Of course I’d make it big, I am Frederick Bobfri
It took time for me to come out of my shell
I thought I’d give it a shot, I said what the hell
I never thought that I’d be this successful
As only 15 songs was my initial goal
There are so many stars that are above me
Yet you still take the time because you love me
So many people out there listening to my music
It’s so damn profound you just can’t confuse it

Bridge:
There’ll be Butter on my Toast in the Morning
Fierce Rebel, Monopoly, Simple Pleasures, Manwoman
Cigarettes and Candles, Debut, Sneaky Suspicion
Show and Tell, Welfare Trolls, Limelight, She Led me On
Insanity, Puppet Master, How to Write a Song

Chorus:
I am making my Debut
Everybody will love me, I am brand new
To me there is nothing that is taboo
Because that would be untrue
I am making a breakthrough
There is nothing I can’t do
I’m agog, starstruck, and fierce too
Today is my Debut

Verse 3:
Do I do it for attention
Do I do it for my name
Do I do it for a passion
Do I do it for the fame
Do I do it for the records
Or is it just a game
Do I do it for the money
Whatever – it’s all the same
I’m still making my Debut
I do this all for you
No other reason is to blame
Sure everything that comes with it is nice
People look up to me, I am recognized
I believe anyone can be famous
As long as they have the drive and remain shameless

Chorus:
I am making my Debut
Everybody will love me, I am brand new
To me there is nothing that is taboo
Because that would be untrue
I am making a breakthrough
There is nothing I can’t do
I’m agog, starstruck, and fierce too
Today is my Debut

Verse 4:
I am the only thing I needed
I was surprised by how much I succeeded
In my eyes I am undefeated
I love myself I so fucking conceited

Bridge:

Fierce Rebel, Monopoly, Simple Pleasures, Manwoman
Cigarettes and Candles, Debut, Sneaky Suspicion
Show and Tell, Welfare Trolls, Limelight, She Led me On
Insanity, Puppet Master, How to Write a Song
